Homes, power users, and tech keep filling Cedar Valley. Lake Mountain and Utah Lake still make you drive around. Charlie Kirk Memorial Crossing is a vision for a public highway tunnel under the ridge and stilts across the lake so the west side can reach Provo, the airport, and the Front without always taking the long way.
Growth is already on MAG’s map. The mountain and the lake are still in the way.
Cedar Valley is filling up with housing plus power-hungry industry and tech campuses. Workers still need a real path to Provo jobs, schools, downtown, and the airport. The west side can grow without pretending the ridge isn’t there—but only if connectivity catches up.
MAG’s TransPlan50 anticipates Utah County near 1.3 million people by 2050, with employment nearly doubling. The west side, from Lehi through Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs, carries a heavy share of that surge. Those are planning-frame numbers already used on this site—not invented job totals for Kirk Crossing.
Anyone who runs Pony Express Parkway or sits through west-side roundabouts on a school-night knows the bottleneck feel. We are not promising a travel-time guarantee or a minute-saved chart. We are saying the map forces a long way around, and a paired tunnel-and-bridge would open another path.
